Chapter 01. Jinjiang Traverse Corporation (晋江穿越集团)
Lei Lei traversed to a small village in the mountains, upon opening her eyes, a group of elderly stood in front of her.
[T/N: MC’s name is 雷蕾 which 雷(léi) means lightning and 蕾(lěi) means bud, as in flower bud.]
A forty something year old aunt sitting at the bedside, saw that she was awake, exclaimed: “Hurry! She’s awake!”
“Why seek death,” the aunt sighed, suddenly noticing Lei Lei’s blank expression, she immediately panicked, “You…… You don’t recognise us?”
Lei Lei calmly replied: “No, I don’t.”
The aunt stamped her feet: “Falling from such a height must have caused her to have amnesia!”
Everybody looked at her with pity.
Amnesia? Lei Lei almost fainted again, gritting her teeth, she was happy and worried at the same time, happy because her wish to traverse was fulfilled, worried because those bunch of jerks tricked her into entering Tian Lei Wen, not only so, still pulled an amnesia stunt!
[T/N: Tian Lei Wen (天雷文) is a genre which by includes traits like the feeling of stepping on a landmine, resulting in a range of minor injury to loss of soul.]
No way am I gonna be an amnesiac, I’ll do the opposite! She smiled confidently: “No, I don’t have amnesia.”
The aunt suspected: “Do you remember your name?”
Lei Lei said: “My name is Lei Lei.”
The aunt shook her head: “This child has really lost her memory, she doesn't even remember her own name.”
Realising her hands did not have her usual healthy skin colour, but was instead fair and smooth, with long fingernails grown, Lei Lei then knew that she had transmigrated into another person’s body, she regained her senses at once, while also being curious of her new identity: “Then, what am I called?”
The aunt smiled kindly: “Silly girl, of course you are called Chun Hua.”

The aunt used a pair of chopsticks to hold her lips in place: “Have you all ever seen Chun Hua speak this loudly?”
Everyone shook their heads.
“Must have been muddled when she fell, poor child.”
Gulping down a bowl of medicine, returning the chopsticks, Lei Lei almost vomited, weakly, shook her head profusely: “Yes yes, I suddenly remembered, my name is indeed Chun Hua.”
Everyone let go of her: “Should have said earlier!”

Lei Lei returned the smile: “Not too bad.”
The belle was satisfied: “For dinner it is!”
Lei Lei said quickly: “This, I am here for an interview.”
The belle rolled her eyes: “Interview? What interview?”
Lei Lei hesitated: “I heard your company wants to start a traversing business……”
“Of course,” The belle coughed twice, putting the roasted duck aside, sat up straight, nodded sternly, “Correct, we did start a traversing business recently, today is the last day for registration.”
Lei Lei said urgently: “I want to participate!”
“Register at the Human Resource (HR) department.”
“Right here,” the belle smiled, “Nice to meet you, I’m Su Su, the general manager (GM) of the HR department…...”
Lei Lei broke into a smile: “Nice to meet you, GM Su! I’m Lei Lei.” She looked around: “How come there’s only you?”
GM Su said: “Because I am the GM of the HR department.”
Lei Lei began to sweat, observing her surroundings in surprise: “This is a corporation? You guys really can help people traverse?”
“Apart from us, who else in this world can help you achieve your dream of traversing!” GM Su was agitated, rose up, scattered the dust on the counter, causing Lei Lei to take a big step back in shock, “This is our R&D department’s new project, certified by authorities, every program is ideal, with various specialties, special time and space for you to choose from.” As she continued, her eyes suddenly sparkled, and pointed at the door: “Look, they have all registered prior, and are here today for the selection.”
Three girls directly entered after pushing the door open, laughing as they talked.
Lei Lei was a little more convinced: “There is even a selection?”

[T/N: Re Xue Wen (热血文) is a genre supposedly like action. The term Re Xue (热血) translates to passion.]
“Let me check,” GM Su suddenly disappeared from the counter, objects started to fly about in the counter, and after what seemed like half a day, a head emerged from under the counter, “Unfortunately, the other types are full, there is only Tian Lei Wen left.”
Tian Lei Wen! Lei Lei dodged a single leather shoe: “Not going not going, it’s too shocking!”

“This……” Lei Lei hesitated for a long while, and still decided to give up on the physical resisting Tian Lei, clenched her teeth and nodded, “Sure!”

The door behind went “bang” as it closed, Lei Lei staggered after being kicked, lifted her head, realised this room is dimmer than the one in front, in front there is a huge sign board, written on it is two words “Finance department”, voices could be heard.
[T/N: Original novel is three words “财务部” but changed to two to fit the English translation “Finance department”.]
No choice, Tian Lei then Tian Lei, it is!
Turning past the sign board, Lei Lei immediately saw a huge office desk, a beautiful lady sat there, the three girls from earlier were chatting away, but all of them became silent the moment she entered.
Lei Lei bravely went up: “May I ask……”
The beautiful lady raised her eye level, used a pen to bundle her hair: “I am the general manager of the Finance department cum accountant cum cashier cum......my name is Zhong Hua Wu Yan, you can call me GM Zhong.”
Lei Lei quickly answered: “Nice to meet you GM Zhong! I am Lei Lei......”
GM Zhong extended her hand: “Hand it over.”
“Registration fee, nineteen thousand nine hundred and eight.”
Lei Lei then remembered, and took out her credit card.
GM Zhong frowned: “You can’t swipe cards.”
Luckily Lei Lei came prepared, she took out a few stacks of cash from her purse: “This is twenty thousand.”
GM Zhong counted the amount and it was correct, then felt embarrassed: “I have no change......”
Lei Lei sighed: “Forget it.”
GM Zhong happily said: “Young lady you have a bright future!” Then looked at her closely: “Average appearance.”
Lei Lei became nervous: “Can’t it?”
GM Zhong winked: “Wrong, this is the style of the traverse female lead, the pretty ones are always the supporting characters, during our interview we look for personality and talent, if you really want to become pretty, we can always transmigrate.”

Lei Lei said hurriedly: “The cheque?”
“Here you go,” GM Zhong was cheerful, “It is fake though.”
The third room was even dimmer, so dim that one cannot see others clearly, except there was a faint blue light shining in the middle of the room, the light rays shone on two beautiful ladies, one charming one adorable, if it wasn’t for the person at the side holding a huge sign board that read “R&D department” those three words, Lei Lei almost thought that this place was a nightclub.
The three girls that were before her were also stunned.
“I am the GM and also the designer of the R&D department, Shu Ke, you can call me GM Shu.” Lei Lei was startled, she turned around, and realised that the voice came from a corner.
In the corner sat a person.
Most importantly that person was shrouded in a hazy halo from top to toe, it was impossible to tell if male or female, with a voice that is warm and stern, plus a kind of clear yet mysterious feeling, like magic like fantasy.
Said person warmly spoke: “For the selection to be fair and authorised, our corporation has invited two guests, Jin Jiang special editors Su Su and Li Li Si, to join us as the judges for this interview, please listen carefully for the question. “Snap your fingers to start.”
Within the faint blue light, Su Su the beautiful charming lady on the left smiled: “Traverse girl must recite poems.”
Adorable belle Li Li Si on the right smiled sweetly: “So the interview question is, recite a poem related to the moonlight.”
As expected of Tian Lei Wen, Lei Lei peeped, turning her head around, she saw the other three girls were full of confidence.
One girl recited: “Clear moonlight before my bed......”
[T/N: The girl was reciting a famous poem “Quiet Night Thoughts” by Li Bai.]
Li Li Si: “Good poem! Good poem! A traverse necessity! Great personality!”
Another girl recited: “How long until the full moon appears......”

Su Su: “Good poem! Good poem! Has creativity!”
The next girl recited: “Amongst the flowers with a bottle of wine......”
[T/N: The girl was reciting a famous poem “Drinking Alone Under the Moon” by Li Bai.]
The two judges discussed for a moment, both nodded: “Not bad.”
It was now Lei Lei’s turn.
Too shocking, never would I ever recite clear moonlight before my bed, Lei Lei confidently: “Bright moon shines over the sea......”

GM Shu who was in the corner unhurriedly said: “No creativity and no personality, you should go back.”
Coming due to her utmost determination to traverse, but then getting shoved into Tian Lei Wen, and even having spent twenty thousand, Lei Lei was boiling in rage, so furious, she rushed up to grab GM Shu’s collar, and raised her clenched fist: “I’m definitely going to traverse today, do you believe me if I say I’d beat you up?”
“Yes......yes yes! First let go--” nodding continuously.
“Yes, let’s talk peacefully! Talk peacefully!” Turning to the two judges.
Li Li Si: “There’s creativity!”
Su Su: “There’s personality!”
GM Shu flashed the sign: “Pass--”.
The empty room was like a small parade square, so dark that one couldn’t see the edges, yet the sound of footsteps echoed.
GM Shu climbed onto a huge equipment with effort, putting on airs as if to mock all things below, and introduced the product: “This part of Tian Lei Wen was already finished, the contents were set by yours truly, spent a lot of hard work......hehe......”
The second judge interrupted: “Since you are so insistent on experiencing it today, you have to first select your ideal traverse method.”
Lei Lei nodded: “What methods are there?”
Li Li Si smiled sweetly, pointed to the side: “Let’s go with a classic, car accident, how does that sound?”

“I don’t want to!” Lei Lei lost grip, and the knife fell onto the floor with a clanging sound.
Su Su bent down to pick up the knife, and blew onto the tip: “How about…...be murdered?”
Wa, murder! Lei Lei was so shocked that she kept stepping backwards, the word “help” at the tip of her tongue, but she suddenly heard a loud voice: “Stop--”
In that instant, Lei Lei felt her underfoot cave in.
The sound of thunder rumbled, sounding even more shocking in an empty room, a blinding flash of lightning struck, and Lei Lei was gone.
GM Shu jumped off the equipment: “How troublesome! Already told her to stop, she doesn’t, serves her right!”
The two judges wiped their sweat: “Traversing by lightning strike isn’t too bad, at least one settled.”
